Swyftx is pleased to announce that it has become one of the first crypto exchanges in the country to achieve the latest ISO 27001 certification for information security management.
The AUSTRAC-registered broker passed an audit in July by Best Practice Certification– an accredited JAS-ANZ certification body. The renewal comes just under a year after Swyftx’s last successful audit of its information security processes.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) established ISO 27001 to promote globally recognised best practices and controls in the management of information security.
The latest ISO 27001:2022 standard, released in October 2022, assesses organisations against 93 different criteria, including risk management, cyber security, encryption, vulnerability management and access control.
Angus Goldman, Chief Technology Officer at the Australian exchange, said: “Our objective at all times is to offer our many hundreds of thousands of customers a more secure trading experience.
“The latest ISO/IEC certificate requirements are the most comprehensive to date. We see this as a reflection of the seriousness that every single team member at Swyftx places on security.”
ISO 27001 certification is an internationally recognised standard for information security. Accreditation requires businesses to demonstrate a systematic, comprehensive and consistent approach to managing sensitive customer and business information.
