Akash Network (AKT) is a decentralised and open-source platform that provides a marketplace for cloud computing resources. Through this platform, those needing computing power can connect with providers offering their surplus capacity and conduct direct transactions using the network's native token, AKT.
The Akash Network ecosystem is built to provide decentralised solutions for cloud storage, resource access, and data ownership, all at a lower cost than traditional centralised platforms. It also leverages the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) for storage and censorship-resistant operations.
The platform was founded by Greg Osuri and Adam Bozanich, each bringing extensive expertise in software engineering and cloud architecture.
