Aerodrome Finance (AERO) is the premier decentralized exchange (DEX) operating on the Ethereum Layer 2 scaling network, Base. The platform offers users low-fee, efficient swaps and incentives to token providers to ensure robust liquidity across the network.  

Aerodrome is an automated market maker, meaning the app uses an algorithm to match buyers and sellers rather than a central limit order book. The DEX has amassed well over US $1b in total value locked (TVL), while it has experienced over US $30b in trading volume through certain months.

AERO is Aerodrome’s native token and forms an integral part of the network’s success. For starters, AERO can be staked to receive veAERO, NFTs that give holders the right to vote on governance processes. AERO is also used as an incentive for liquidity providers and to pay for transaction fees.
