Frequently asked questions

Crypto-backed loans allow you to borrow cash by providing your cryptocurrency as security.

Loan-to-Value Ratio (LVR) is calculated by dividing your total loan balance - inclusive of your principal loan amount plus any fees, including the origination fee - by the total valuation of your security, expressed as a percentage:

 (Principal loan amount + Any fees) ÷ (Security value) x 100 = LVR%

An origination fee is a one-time cost you pay upfront to the lender and is included in the loan-to-value ratio (LVR) calculation.

You can borrow from $2,000 and up to $100K AUD, depending on the value of your security and lender approval.

Once you’ve accepted your loan agreement and received final approval, you must provide your crypto security to finalise your loan.

Funds will be deposited to your nominated bank account within 24 hours of receiving your crypto security.

Crypto-backed loans are only available to customers with an Australian bank account and personal Swyftx account. Entity account loans will be coming soon (excluding SMSFs).

A comparison rate shows the true cost of a loan by combining the interest rate with upfront and ongoing fees into a single percentage. Ultimately, this rate provides a more realistic understanding of what the loan will actually cost you over its term.

The permitted loan purposes are non-financial investment, home improvement, holiday, car purchase, and purchasing a gift. During your application you'll select the one that best matches the main use of your funds.

A non-financial investment means putting your funds toward an investment that isn't a financial product, for example, physical precious metals (e.g. gold or silver bullion), art, antiques, or collectibles (e.g. fine wine, a classic car held as a collectible), fine jewellery, watches, loose gemstones, and doesn't include buying crypto, shares or other financial products.
