Osmosis (OSMO) is a decentralised exchange (DEX) and automated market maker (AMM) protocol built on the Cosmos blockchain. Users on Osmosis can trade and swap crypto through a large reserve of crypto assets known as a liquidity pool. Participants can contribute to the liquidity pool to earn rewards from fees generated on the platform. One aspect of Osmosis that sets them apart from most DEXs, is that users can build customisable AMMs on the network with flexible parameters such as swap fees and token weights.
OSMO is the native token for the Osmosis network and can be used to participate in staking and governance. Osmosis introduces a new concept called ‘superfluid staking’, which allows users to both stake and earn liquidity rewards simultaneously.
