The platform essentially works as a GPU marketplace, offering scalable on-demand computational resources for AI and ML tasks, allowing developers and organisations to access high-performance computing without relying on centralised providers. 

The IO token, built on the Solana blockchain, is the native currency of the Io.net ecosystem. It serves multiple purposes within the ecosystem, such as being the unit of exchange for GPU resources or providing network incentives by rewarding contributors who lend their computational power to the platform. The token also grants voting rights, allowing holders to participate in community governance.
